I was introduced to fishing when 3 years old while on a family vacation in Red River, New Mexico. I remember how excited I was when I caught two fish out of a stock tank. That experience was just the beginning of my obsession with the sport of bass fishing!

While growing up, my family spent many weekends in East Texas at our lake house. All I wanted to do was stay on the dock all day and fish. My three older brothers would fish, too, but not all day like me. My mother would bring lunch to me at the dock because I wouldn’t leave my spot—I thought I might miss the chance to catch the really big one!

Although dad didn’t enjoy fishing as much as I thought he did at the time, he gladly took my brothers and me fishing even when we weren't at the lake house. I will always be grateful to him for allowing us to have those opportunities. Because of my parents, I have always loved nature and being outdoors. Thanks, Dad and Mom.

When I met Hector, he had tournament fished since he was 18. I had been a competitive gymnast as a teenager and the thought of combining fishing with competition sounded awesome! We fished team tournaments and also C.A.S.T. (couples tournaments). We had a blast and even cashed some checks along the way.

I fished the WBT (Women's Bassmaster Tournament) the inaugural year. I was asked to represent the Army National Guard fishing the FLW Tour for the 2007 season. What an incredible experience that was and an awesome tournament circuit to fish. Anglers have a chance to really grow when they fish at different types of fisheries around the U.S.

I feel very blessed and grateful for the many opportunities that have been given to me. I want to be an asset to the angling community, and I hope to share fishing with others so they will also grow to love it. Most of all, I really want to Make a Difference!!!
